The End of an Era
London, it’s been a slice.
Yes, it’s true – we are blowing this popsicle stand. It’s not as easy as sounds. The "things aren't easy" part is ultimately what made up our minds, but it’s a decision my husband Chris and I have been toying with for a couple of years now. One that doesn’t come without heartache. (Heartbreak to be more accurate). It’s just not so simple to say goodbye.
We’ve had a beautiful run of 15 years in business as Wabi Sabi. The last two haven’t been so fun and I’m sure everyone understands the impacts small businesses have suffered. I’ve been torn for quite some time, but ultimately, it came down to family, recent world events and the current climate in downtown London. So now, our gorgeous building on Dundas – our foundation in London and the truly amazing place that I’ve loved from the start – is officially sold.
We will lock the door one last time on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

To my longtime London clients: thank-you from the bottom of my heart. Some of you have stuck with me (some since 2000!) and have helped me hold my chin high through all of our trials and tribulations together, through thick and thin. You’ve surrounded me and my amazing staff with love, respect and support all through the years, and became our family.
All the while, my “other” family at home continues to expand and we’ve settled deeper into the "life at home" that's been our reality over the last two years. We now have two sweet grandbabies (can you believe it?), and my darling 11-year-old needs his mama – now more than ever.
The good news in all of this is that my three-year-old country home studio is thriving and expanding. Now if you're yet to visit my home salon, let me just tell you – it has the most picturesque setting, with so much (free!) private parking, the highest end product (AVEDA, of course!) and true comfort. Our clients can sit by the fire with a cuppa and a homemade cookie – imagine that!
So grab a tea to go and come take a quick-but-breathtaking scoot to the outskirts of the city. You can escape to the country every six, eight or 12 weeks and enjoy the sheep, alpacas, horses and cows you’ll get to smile at on the way. So come let me pamper you here – our coffee pot is always on!
I’ll continue to work six days a week at the home salon (so I’m still more available than most hair stylists you know!) and I promise the same quality and service out here. Maybe even better conversation. 😉
So again – thank you to every sweet face who walked through our door, for every warm hug, for every listening ear and every bit of good advice and everything that I’ve learned from all of you interesting and incredible human beings who I’ve gotten to know and love.
It's bittersweet, friends, but I’m definitely looking forward to fully embracing nature and taking in everything the countryside has to offer. "Peace above all." Cheers to many wonderful adventures ahead in this fantastic journey called life. ♥️🙏🏻
And finally, for those of you who may be partings ways with us at this time, I forever give you my gratitude and love.
Love,
Tanya Layton, Owner & Stylist
